🧩 3 Fun Ways I Keep My Students Engaged (That They Actually Love!)
Aug 02, 2025As a middle school teacher, I know how hard it can be to keep students focused. That’s why I use my Plug-and-Play System to make lesson planning easier and more fun—for me and for them!
Here are 3 fun things I include that my students really enjoy:
🗺️ 1. Map Skills
At the start of the year, we spend two weeks learning map skills. Students work with real maps and practice geography. The best part? The final test is outside! I draw a giant map on the blacktop, and students move to the correct spot to answer questions. They talk about it all year long!
🔐 2. Breakout Boxes
Think reverse escape room! Students work in teams to solve clues and unlock a box full of surprises. The clues are based on what we’re learning in class. It takes time to set up, but the excitement is 100% worth it!
🎮 3. Blooket
Blooket is an online game where students answer review questions to compete in fun challenges. There are lots of topics to choose from, and it’s free! My students love using it to study before a test.
