How To Connect To Your Students

Isn't that why we became teachers. To connect to our students and to leave a positive impact on the next generation. What goal could be more worthwhile than that. But the question then becomes, how do you connect to your students?
In my 20 years of teaching I thought about this question a lot and I have tried many different things. Some more successful than others. But when I really consider how I create those relationships in my classroom it simply breaks down to sharing experiences.
In my classroom there are 4 different ways in which I create those common experiences.
1. Day to Day Activities
2. Small Random Things
3. Bigger Projects
4. Crazy Good Time
